Apple ICT3 Offer Evaluation
I received the following verbal offer for a Software Engineer position at the Austin office location:
- Level: ICT3
- Base: $155K
- RSU: $145K (vested over 4 years)
- Sign-on: $20K
- YOE: 5
Is this a reasonable offer? Tried negotiating during the verbal offer discussion, but the recruiter didn't budge much from the initial numbers. I don't have a competing offer right now, so I'm not sure how I can negotiate further.

I wasn’t able to negotiate much. They increased the base by just a bit. The offer letter finally arrived last week, more than a month after the verbal offer. Unfortunately, I received a much higher offer from Amazon today but I’ve already signed so I don’t think I can negotiate anymore.

Thank you! I got the verbal offer the very next day after my final round. But I got the written offer letter just last week, more than a month later.

I think Austin should be a lot cheaper than bay area or other HCOL areas, right? I would consider no state income tax and lower overall tax rate in this case - don’t let blind’s bs numbers throw you off.

The offer is definitely an upgrade over my current TC, and the team/work looks very interesting so I'm thinking about taking it. Do you have an idea of how long it generally takes to receive a written offer letter after the verbal offer?

- I actually received an offer from Amazon today which is much higher in total comp compared to Apple. Do you think Amazon is worth the jump in TC based on your experience there? It’s in the worldwide grocery stores org btw.
- Also as someone who previously work on sec software - you are likely a high performer at Trend Micro, be ready to be middle of pack at Apple, it’s good chance to grow.
